The Pick-Up was an evening dedicated to the art of movin bodys as a weekly event that took place on Wednesdays based in downtown San Jose for just over a year from 2010 - 2011. Their cathcy slogan stated it all “Providing the bump for your mid-week slump.” Similarities through the vision of D1ME parrallel those of The Pick-Up in a sense of the higher BPM’s variation. That is to say a healthy dose of global groove, consisting of House, Funk, Future Soul-Jazz, Electronica, and for this special edition, they will look to add a lil Moombahsoul. It ain’t hard to tell, that the two gentlemen behind the creation of this dancers haven have been holding down the D1ME decks as residents too.
