So I mentioned in a previous post that myself and my BEVMO teamate R-Cade are puttin’ together a little project entitled Space Cakes EP. All original tracks using analog methods of producing music. I would describe the sound of our project as future boogie/synth heavy/soulful/funk. This is my first analog based project and it’s a whole new and fresh experience. It’s dope shaping and building your own sounds from scratch, especially on the Juno, versus picking a midi patch on the computer and looking at a screen. It’s a strictly hands on approach. Kinda strengthens your foundation if you ask me. This is OUR own sound we’re creating, not a computer’s! Here are the tools we’re working with:
- Roland Juno 106 & Six-Track analog synths.
- MPC-1000 for drum sequencing & sampling boogie vinyl
- Pro Tools
- Logic
- Turntables
.. behind the scenes flicks of the Space Cakes EP project!

F.A.M.E. [Fresh Analog Music Experience] rockin’ it at the 4OneFunktion! 10.23.10
If ya’ll still are catchin ZzZzs on F.A.M.E. [Fresh Analog Music Experience] i don’t even know what to say to you. These dudes right here are making future funk/soul/boogie music. Their musical artillery consists of the Vestax Controller1, MPCs, analog synths (six-track), vocoders, and probably something else out of this world. haha, the point i’m tryna make is, THIS IS FUTURE MUSIC!
