If you’re a beat head, I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU SLAP SOME OF ABJO’s MUSIC ON YOUR iPODs, MP3 Players, Walkmans, whatever! I met this dude, back when I was schoolin’ at SDSU [San Diego State University] a few years ago, (whattup 619!)…and we had a few music classes together, including African Drumming, yess, African Drumming. I already could tell there was something fresh about this kid when when I saw him…I finally heard his work on the interwebs and was truly impressed. This young frontrunna has illy steelo. Think of a cross pollination of Dilla, Madlib, Nujabes, and FlyLO. Peep one of his tracks from one of his many beat tapes “The Late Show”..This cat continues to inspire me on the beats and theres ALWAYS a beat or 2 that helps me get through some $hit…Expect to hear some of his beats on a future SmoovGroovs mixtape!
